Symptom
Poor probe repeatability
and/or accuracy.
RMP600 status LEDs
do not correspond to
RMI-Q or RMI-QE status
LEDs.
Cause
Debris on part or stylus.
Poor tool change repeatability.
Loose probe mounting on shank
or loose stylus.
Excessive machine vibration.
Calibration out of date and/or
incorrect offsets.
Calibration and probing speeds
not the same.
Calibration feature has moved.
Measurement occurs as stylus
leaves surface.
Measurement occurs within
the machine's acceleration and
deceleration zone.
Probing speed too high or too
low.
Temperature variation causes
machine and workpiece
movement.
Machine tool faulty.
Radio link failure – RMP600 out
of RMI-Q or RMI-QE range.
RMP600 has been enclosed/
shielded by metal.

Action
Clean part and stylus.
Redatum probe after each tool
change.
Check and tighten as appropriate.
Change trigger filter setting.
