SULPHUR CORRECT.
The sulphur correction deducts energy which is released by the formation of SO2. The entry is in KJ/g.
The default setting is zero.
The Sulphur correction is NOT applied during calibration

14.3 MOISTURE CORRECTION

If a sample has a moisture content, then the nett result can be compensated for. The moisture entry is
in percent.
33
MOISTURE PERCENT
This entry is important when the moisture content of a sample is known and the nett calorific value
must be calculated. The CAL3K calculates the nett mass and displays the nett calorific value.
The default setting is ZERO=Disabled.
The moisture content reduces the mass to a nett mass and increases the CV.

14.4 GELATINE CAPSULE CORRECTION

If a gelatine capsule is used during the process (to contain a powdery sample) then this energy can be
compensated for by enabling the capsule correction:
28
GELATINE CAPSULE
A YES/NO entry enables/disables the use of gelatine capsule temperature deduction.
If enabled the capsule temperature rise will be deducted from the raw temperature rise before further
calculations. See EASY SPIKING
29
CAPSULE RISE C
This refers to the EASY SPIKING method and assumes that all gelatine capsules have the same mass and
consistency. Then the temperature rise caused by a gelatine capsule is entered here (Default=2.594).
This entry is associated with the capsule (Manufacturer, weight, size) and is constant unless changed.
If a capsule is used (for powdery samples) then is must be enabled with CMD=28.
