The AI module has one drawback: It requires more than one calibration to start working. The minimum
number of calibrations is set to four. However, sample determinations are possible with less than 4
calibrations.
The CAL3K uses AI (Artificial Intelligence) to improve accuracy and repeatability. The results are computed
by comparing them to a calibration. With AI more calibrations are required. With each calibration the
instrument learns the characteristics of the temperature and vessel behavior and the reaction to the
environment.
In practical terms it means that the accuracy improves with the number of calibrations performed.
Calibration should be performed in all operating conditions at least once so that the CAL3K can learn the
influences of the changed conditions. The conditions depend very much on the laboratory operation.
12.2 CALIBRATION IN DIFFERENT MODES
A calibration is saved for a particular vessel and a particular mode. Note that not all CAL3K products
have a mode parameter. The following table explains this.

12.3 PERFORMING A CALIBRATION
Prepare the vessel with Benzoic Acid (BA) and set the calibration on (YES).

Then close the LID and wait. You will notice that the calibration operation is indicated in the top left
corner. Once done, remove the vessel and repeat the procedure with the other vessels (Except CAL3K-S)
which only has one vessel.
The first calibration after a cleared memory is a true calibration. The second calibration is a 'CALIBRATION
and check sample combined.
12.4 CALIBRATION AND RESULT GRADING
The result (and calibration) quality is judged by the compensation amount in Degree C. See:
