RSP3 installation and user's guide www.renishaw.com System description The RSP3 range of probes gives REVO users the ability to carry cranked stylus arrangements and enhanced capability for carrying long styli. The RSP3-1 / 2 / 3 / 4 probes can be used for both 3D-scanning (X, Y, Z) and touch-trigger applications. They enable accurate scanning measurement with effective stylus lengths ranging from 20 mm - 394 mm. - Page 14 NOTE: RCP TC-3 is for use with RSP3-6 and SFP2 only. The change can be carried out either manually, or fully automatically by using the FCR25 flexible change rack (for RSH3-1 / 2 / 3 / 4) or RCP2 (for the RSH3-6 range).

System calibration It is absolutely crucial that the probe is precisely calibrated for each measurement procedure before measurement is taken. A cleaning kit for the precision ball seating and permanent magnet is available from your Renishaw supplier (part number A-1085-0016). It comprises strips of cleaning material. Use the cleaning material to clean the areas indicated with arrows on the image below. - Page 44 RSP3 installation and user's guide www.renishaw.com Electrical contacts The electrical contacts, indicated with arrows in the image below, should be carefully cleaned with an alcohol-based cleaner (e.g. IPA) and a lint-free cloth. The frequency of cleaning depends on the local environment conditions, but should be at least every 500 probe or stylus holder changes.

Periodic cleaning of the ports, lids and outer surfaces using a soft, lint free cloth is recommended to prevent contamination of stored probes and modules. A port replacement kit for FCR25 is available to allow the user to service ports should they become worn or damaged (Renishaw part number A-5036-0049). -
