Setting Administrator Password on Operation Panel

You can specify or disable the administrator password.
Specifying the administrator password requires you to enter the password to use the items or change the
settings below.
• Web service setup
• LAN settings
• Device user settings
• Language selection
• Firmware update
• Energy saving settings
• Quiet setting
• Auto maintenance settings
• Administrator password setting
• Reset setting (except for Reset all)
Follow the procedure below to specify the administrator password.
1.
Make sure printer is turned on.
2. Select
Various settings on HOME screen.

3. Use
button to select Device settings and press OK button.
4. Use
button to select Administrator password setting and press OK button.
5. When confirmation screen to specify administrator password is displayed, select Yes and
press OK button.
If an administrator password is not specified, the register confirmation message appears. Selecting Yes
and pressing the OK button displays the message again.
Important
• The administrator password is set at the time of purchase. The printer's serial number is used as
the password.
For the administrator password, refer to Administrator Password.
6. Use
button to select Change administrator password and press OK button.
If you do not specify an administrator password, select Remove administrator password. Selecting
Yes and pressing the OK button displays the message again.
7. Use
button to select range where administrator password is valid and press OK button.
