Before performing maintenance/replacement

f Make sure to turn off the power before maintaining the projector or replacing the unit. (x page 38)
f When switching off the projector, make sure to follow the procedures in "Powering Off the Projector". (x page 38)

Maintenance

Outer case
Wipe off dirt and dust with a soft, dry cloth.
f If the dirt is persistent, soak the cloth with water and wring it thoroughly before wiping. Dry off the projector with a dry cloth.
f Do not use benzene, thinner, or rubbing alcohol, other solvents, or household cleaners. Doing so may deteriorate the outer
case.
f When using chemically treated dust cloths, follow the instructions written on its packaging.
Lens front surface
Wipe off dirt and dust from the front surface of the lens with a soft clean cloth.
f Do not use a cloth that is fluffy, dusty, or soaked with oil/water.
f Since the lens is fragile, do not use excessive force when wiping the lens.
Attention
f The lens is made of glass. Impacts or excessive force when wiping may scratch its surface. Handle with care.

Replacing the unit

Air filter unit
The estimated duration before replacement is about 7 000 hours, but it is recommended to replace the air filter unit early if the
projector is used in dusty environment.
Replace the air filter unit in the following cases:
f If the air filter unit is clogged, a "Temperature Warning" message is displayed on the screen, and then the temperature
indicator <TEMP> lights red, the power of the projector may be turned off automatically and entered into standby mode.
f "FILTER COUNTER has reached the set time." is displayed.
When purchasing the optional air filter unit (Model No.: ET-RFV400), consult your dealer.
How to replace the air filter unit
Attention
f Make sure to turn off the power before replacing the air filter unit.
f Make sure that the projector is stable, and perform the replacement in a safe place where the unit will not be damaged even
if you drop the air filter unit.
f After replacing the air filter, reset the filter counter. Otherwise, "FILTER COUNTER has reached the set time." will appear on
screen.
1) Remove the air filter cover.
f Pull out the air filter cover from the hook of the projector while slightly pushing upward the tabs of the air filter cover and
open it in the direction of the arrow in figure.
2) Remove the air filter unit.
f Hold the tab on the left side of the air filter unit and pull out in the direction of the arrow.
f After removing the air filter unit, remove foreign objects and dust from the air filter compartment and the projector's air
intake port if there are any.
