General Safety

Install adequate branch circuit protection according to applicable local codes and this manual.
Failure to comply could result in fire and damage to the A1000 drive or injury to personnel.
The device is suitable for use on a circuit capable of delivering not more than 100,000 RMS symmetrical amperes,
480 Vac maximum (400 V class), when protected by branch circuit protection devices specified in this manual.

General Application Precautions

Selection
Installing a Transformer
Install a 6-Phase/12-Pulse isolation transformer with each of the output windings phase shifted by 30 electrical degrees or
install a Hybrid 6-Phase topology on the power supply.
Installing a Reactor
Install an AC reactor in following situations:
• to suppress harmonic current
• to smooth peak current that results form capacitor switching.
• when the power supply capacity (kVA) is 10 times or more greater than the drive capacity according to
• when the drive is running from a power supply system with thyristor converters.
