5.3.3 Installation of the Gyrosphere
Note: At the place of installation, a clean and level work surface must be available.
In addition to the parts provided in the installation and replacement parts kit,
a 5 mm hexagon key, a medium-sized and a small screwdirver will be needed
during the installation.
For cleaning purposes, a lint-free cloth and alcohol are required.
Caution: Do not use acetone or similar solvents.
1) De-energize the gyrocompass system.
2) Remove the gyrosphere container from its
transport box and place it on the work sur-
face.
3) Unscrew the centering pin and place it
aside (do not yet remove the protective
cap from the pin).
4) Disconnect and remove the plug connec-
tor from the base contact.
