CONNECTING ETCO2 MODULES AND PODS
Ports and outlets are clearly marked on the front of the etCO2
module and pod. Use these labels as a guide when connecting the
pod or module to the monitor and peripherals.
1. To connect Pod: plug one end of connector cable into PodCom
connector on left side of monitor. Plug the other end into the
pod.
2. To connect Module slide into slot on rear of monitor until the
module rests securely.
CALIBRATING ETCO2 MODULES AND PODS
Calibrate the adapter every time you switch adapter types, for ex-
ample; when you switch from a mainstream to a sidestream
adapter, or from an adult to a neonatal adapter. Adapter Calibra-
tion is normally not required if replacing with a catheter of the
same type.
1. Use Rotary knob to highlight etCO2 parameter box, click.
2. Use Rotary knob to highlight Adapter Cal. A popup message
etCO2 Place Adapter in Room Air appears.
3. Connect the CO2 sensor onto the airway adapter and hold
them away from any source of CO2.
4. Use Rotary knob to highlight Continue. The calibration takes
approximately 15 seconds, during which the message etCO2
Calibrating Adapter appears.
5. When calibration is successful, the monitor displays the mes-
sage etCO2 Adapter Cal. Accepted.
SIDESTREAM MONITORING SETUP
1. Use Rotary knob to highlight etCO2 parameter box, click.
2. Use Rotary knob to highlight Measurement Mode, click.
3. Use Rotary knob to highlight Side, click.
4. Make sure the sidestream pump in the etCO2 device turns on
and that you feel suction at the input port.
