  • Page 3 Brightness adjustment: The brightness of the brake light is adjusted using the Wonderwheel on the left motorcycle grip. The rider enters programming mode using the fol- lowing sequence: Press and hold the right brake lever. Press the turn signal cancel (TSC) button a single time (no hold). Tilt the Wonderwheel to the right and hold until the brake lights flash two times (the front running lights will also flash, if installed).
  • Page 4 Clearwater Billie Brake Light operation and features Day/Night levels: Each of the brake and running light levels have two different settings: day and night. The CAN-opener automatically switches between these based on the ambient light level received by a sensor in the instrument cluster.
  • Page 5 Stationary brake flash: The brake flashing action of the brake lights in either Modes 3 or 4 above is suppressed when the bike’s speed drops below 5mph. This is to avoid nuisance flashing in heavy, stop-go traffic situations. However, in a case in which it would be beneficial to flash the brake light (sending a friendly message to a driver behind the bike), a 4-flash sequence can be generated in these modes by a double pull of the front brake lever (or rear foot lever) while...
  • Page 6 Inertial braking: There is an additional braking feature provided by the CAN opener in which the brake lights automatically engage when the deceleration of the bike reaches a threshold value, even when the brakes are not engaged (engine braking). There are three inertial braking modes. Switching between each mode requires the bike to be not moving and 5 consecutive presses of the rear brake foot lever (front brake released).
  • Page 7 To reset the CANopener to the factory settings, hold the left turn signal switch and press the flash-to-pass button six times within six seconds.
