6.1 Production Start-up
Before carrying out any operation set the valve in safety condition.
- Start valve operation on empty. If the valve works correctly, add material and proceed with regular operation.
Especially with materials which tend to harden or become sticky through longer periods of storage ensure no
material or liquid is deposited on the shaft passages. In such a case clean the area thoroughly.
At the first start up, check that the operation of the valve is suitable to the intended use. (UNSUITABLE PRES-
SURE SET TINGS can cause excessive pressure imbalance with consequent implosion or explosion of the
silo, leakage of dust from the valve, possibly forming crusts on the valve itself and polluting the surrounding
environment).
6.2 Shuttdown of the valve at the end of the work cycle
- There is no special switch-off procedure.
Set the valve in safety condition before carrying out any opera tion.
Danger - Warning
Do not insert the limbs inside the valve while operating. Disconnect from the power supply by means
of the main switch; it is provided with a key meant to avoid accidental start ups. The key must be kept
by the operator that carries out the operations.
If high parts of the valve are to be accessed, a work platform must be provided, designed so as to prevent
danger of slipping, tripping or falling of operators.
Failure to follow the instructions bellow can cause problems and invalidate the warranty on the supplied valve.
Replacement of parts depends on the use of the valve and the type of material handled.
