2. Fuel Line Inspection

WARNING
DO NOT SMOKE OR HAVE AN OPEN FIRE/FLAME OR USE ANY
DEVICE THAT CAN MAKE SPARKS DURING THIS INSPECTION.
FLAMES OR SPARKS CAN CAUSE FUEL IGNITION WHICH CAN CAUSE
SERIOUS BURNS, INJURY, OR DEATH.
CAUTION
TO ENSURE CORRECT ENGINE OPERATION AND FLIGHT SAFETY,
THERE MUST NOT BE ANY FUEL LEAK AND ALL FUEL LINES MUST
BE SECURED WITH CLAMPS (PER THIS INSPECTION). IDENTIFY AND
CORRECT THE CAUSE OF ANY FUEL LEAK.
NOTICE: This fuel line inspection is to be done during every visual inspection and any time fuel
lines or clamps are serviced, removed, or replaced. Copy and record findings in the Fuel
System Inspection Checklist in this chapter.
A. There are four fuel lines on this engine (Figure 2). For reference, identify each fuel line by
number to the corresponding cylinder.
NOTICE: Figures 2A, 2B, and 2C are general conceptual reference figures of fuel line and
hose configurations, clamps, brackets, and fasteners for the various fuel injected
390-C series engine models. Your fuel line/hose routing could be different. Part
numbers can vary between the different engine models. Refer to the applicable latest
edition of the IO-390-D Series Engines Illustrated Parts Catalog for part number
details.
