Measure the I.D. of the
crankshaft bearings
(Figure 12) installed in
the crankcase.
Measure the O.D. of the
crankshaft at the front,
center, and rear bearing
locations.
Measure the I.D. of the
camshaft bearing saddles
formed by the crankcase
when assembled (Figure
76).
Measure the O.D. of the
camshaft at the camshaft
bearing saddle locations.
Compare the difference between each crankshaft bearing I.D. and crankshaft O.D. measurement and
the difference between each camshaft bearing saddle I.D. and camshaft O.D. measurement to the
allowable clearance in the latest revision of the Service Table of Limits - SSP-1776.
