The motherboard is the main printed circuit board which allows communication
between all other components of the printer. It is placed under the bottom plate,
along with the cooling fan and power supply unit. Any motherboard failure may
create problems with other components and the printer may not properly perform.
If, for example, your printer is overheating, or it starts to run but there is nothing
displayed on the front panel, or it suddenly turns off during the printing process
and cannot be restarted, it may indicate the motherboard failure. At first, you have
to determine whether the problem is not caused by a specific component. If
you've eliminated other possible causes, for example, the display panel, power
supply unit or fuse failure, you should replace the motherboard. Follow the steps
from this manual to see how to properly carry out the whole procedure.
