5.9 Controller Troubleshooting

Figure 5-5 contains basic troubleshooting information for the RDC2 controller.
Problem Possible Cause
Controller LCD Low or no battery voltage
display is off.
Controller display Backlight turns off after about 1
backlight is off. minute with no activity
Loss of Bad connections

Corrective Action
Check controller connections.
Check DC power to the RDC2
controller.
Check generator set battery
connections and condition.
Check utility power connection
to the generator set terminal
block (power for battery
charging).
Backlight will turn on when a
button is pressed or the
generator set starts.
Check wiring and connections.
Verify that cable size and length
of run comply with the
instructions in the Installation
manual.
Check generator set battery
connections and condition.
