To improve safety, we have provided a threaded connection
equipped with an "R" cap for connection of a condensate
drain hose, should it be necessary (although this is
unlikely) (fig 57)
Horizontal sections must be long maximum of 2-3 m
with an ascending slope of 3-5%. The flue connection
pipes must be at a regulatory distance from combustible
walls or non-combustible according to the DTU, namely
3 times the diameter if the wall is made of combustible
materials with a minimum of 375 m / m, and 1.5 times the
diameter if the wall is non-combustible with a minimum
of 200 m / m. The connection must be visible along its
entire route. The connection must not be made on a
used conduit by other devices (boilers, stoves, fireplaces,
etc.), or air extraction systems (hoods, vents, etc.). It is
forbidden to install valves or moderators draw.
If you have a problem, contact support JØTUL technique.
It is strictly forbidden to connect a non-waterproof with
a terminal outlet in Zone 2 (crawling from the roof)
or zone 3 (facade). These poses are reserved only for
waterproof holders of a CSTB technical opinion as well
as the connection.
541 Extraction through the roof by means of a
conventional chimney flue
The chimney for flue gas extraction must be certified
according to EN 1856-1-2, EN 1857, EN 1443, EN
13384-
1-3 and EN 12391-1 within the scope of dimensions and
materials used in the design.
Damaged
chimneys
inappropriate materials (cement, galvinised steel, etc.;
coarse or porous interior surfaces) are illegal and pose a
hazard to proper functioning of the stove.
If necessary, conventional ducts may be used after pipe
sets.
Every fitter must provide a calculations sheet compliant
with standard EN 13384-1, as per the TFD.
To improve a duct's insulation, it is recommended
to insulate it as much as possible in order to avoid
condensation and dew point. The temperature of flue gas
in a pellet-fired stove is lower than in a wood-fired stove.
Use only products permitted by the TFD or having a
technical opinion from CSTB.
Follow the rules below:
• flue gas may be extracted directly to an old chimney
flue if it has a cross-section up to 15 x 15 cm or a
diameter of 15 cm, and it is equipped with an inspection
hatch.
In the case of a large chimney cross-section, it is necessary
to line the chimney with well-insulated steel lining
(diameter depending on access) (fig. 5.5.2). Follow the
rules of the TFD within the scope of the aforementioned
activities.
Avoid contact with flammable materials (beams), and
maintain safe distances in every instance.
