1225 Cleaning of chimney flues
The chimney flue should be cleaned at least twice a year
– at the beginning and at half of the winter season – and
as needed. In the case of horizontal ducts, they should
be checked for ash and soot deposits, which must be
removed before they clog the chimney flue.
Insufficient cleaning or neglect of cleaning causes
problems with the stove's operation, such as:
• improper combustion,
• blackening of the glass pane,
• pollution of the brazier with ash and deposits from
pellet,
• deposition of ash and soot on the exchanger, which
leads to poor performance.
1226 Cleaning the housing
Clean the stove's housing with a dry, non-abrasive cloth.
Do not use detergents, and do not perform cleaning when
the stove is hot
1227 Electrical connection
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a
qualified technician in order to avoid risk.
123 EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE
The pellet stove is a heat generator fired with solid fuel,
and as such, requires extraordinary annual maintenance,
which should be performed by an authorised JØTUL

season. The purpose of this maintenance is to check the
correct operation of all parts.
