ity, the user will be required to log in again. Typically, a longer time-out will be more con-
venient for working with IDU web pages.
The time-out can be set at up to 30 minutes (the maximum time-out for the IDU). The fol-
lowing procedure describes how to modify the time-out in a registry setting of Internet
Explorer. This procedure can be used in computers running Windows ME, 2000 or XP (it
is not applica-ble to Windows 98).
Warning: Incorrectly editing the registry may severely damage your
operating system and render your computer inoperable.
1. Start the Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
2.)Locate and click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityPro-
viders\SCHANNEL
3.)On the Edit menu, click Add Value.
4.)Type ClientCacheTime, click the REG_DWORD data type, and then click OK.
5.)In the Data box, type a decimal value in milliseconds, and then click OK. E.g., a
value of 1800000 (decimal) corresponds to a time-out of 30 minutes.
Note: Keys are not displayed in the registry unless you change them from
their default values.
The IDU implements Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) in order to access the Internet or
other network at the hub. The IDU and the IPSec server must negotiate and establish a tun-
nel in order for the IDU to transmit and receive traffic data.
The IPSec Configuration page enables you to configure IPSec settings:
• Create an IPSec server table entry
• View or Modify an IPSec server table entry
• Delete an IPSec server table entry
In addition, you can download a new IPSec key using the File Management web page. See
section
2.6.3.
To create an IPSec server table entry, click the Create an IPSec Server Table Entry but-
ton near the top of the page. The entry will appear in the IPSec Server Table Configuration
drop-down box.
