• IDU Help. Click on IDU parameters or monitoring information to obtain a pop-up
description of that field. This information is also contained in this manual.
The IDU web interface is designed for three types of tasks. These tasks are normally done
by a service provider or satellite network operator.
• Installation. This includes physical installation, cable connections, initial access to
the user interface and password configuration. Installation procedures are covered in
the IDU Installation Manual,
• Satellite Network Configuration. This includes configuring the IDU for access to
the satellite network (forward and return links) and the MIB configuration. Network
configuration procedures are covered in the IDU Installation Manual,
• Operation and Maintenance. This includes:
• Monitoring the status of the IDU, including forward and return links, operational
state and alerts.
• Troubleshooting the IDU's satellite network connections.
• Controlling the IDU, including acquiring and disabling satellite links.
• Configuring the IDU's access to the LAN or local PC, including its ethernet
address.
This User's Manual covers all aspects of IDU operation and maintenance. To perform
these tasks, log in to the web interface as "superuser", as described below.
You must log in to the IDU Web interface as "superuser" to perform operation and mainte-
nance tasks.
1. Open the IDU web interface in an internet browser (see the Installation Manual,
section
2.3). The home page opens.
2. From the home page, log in as follows:
Username: superuser
Password: su001pwd or set by user (see
3.)The Superuser Menu page opens. From there, choose a configuration link from the
list on the left-hand side of the page.
Warning: The following general safety precautions must be
observed during all phases of operation, service and repair of this
equipment. Failure to comply with these precautions or with specific
warnings elsewhere in this documentation violates safety standards
