Replacing an EGC

1. If you are removing a partially used EGC, go to the ion count screen
and note the percentage of ions remaining. If you reinstall the EGC
later, re-enter this percentage on the screen. See Section 3.8 for
details.
2. Turn off the power to the Dionex RFC-30.
3. Disconnect the Dionex RFC-30
Twist the locking ring to unlock the two cables and then pull them
apart.
The EGC contains either KOH, a corrosive base, or MSA, a corrosive
acid. Wear protective eye wear and gloves when handling the EGC.

4. Remove the
VENT
Figure 44) from
the EGC by
unscrewing the
luer lock from the
luer adapter.
If necessary, use a
wrench to hold the
luer adapter in
place while
unscrewing the
vent line.
5. Install the luer cap (P/N 053981), provided with the EGC, onto the
luer adapter. This prevents leaks from the vent opening when you turn
over the EGC (see Step 6).
