INTRODUCTION

This manual states the information and that deemed necessary for transport, in-
stallation, use and maintenance of the range dehumidifiers DMH - DMH-I - DMV
- DMV-I.
The user will find that which is normally useful to know for correct safe installation
of the dehumidifiers described. Failure to comply with that described in this man-
ual and inadequate installation of the dehumidifiers causes the annulment of the
warranty that the Manufacturer gives its dehumidifiers.
Moreover, the Manufacturer is not liable for any direct and/or indirect damage due to in-
correct installation or damage caused by units installed by unskilled and unauthorised
staff.
Dehumidifiers are refrigerant cycle machines combined with radiant air-condition-
ing systems, from which they draw a certain water flow rate to increase the dehu-
midification efficiency and reduce electricity consumption.
The cooling systems employ chilled water at temperatures between 15°C and 20°C,
which is enough to take the rooms to the desired temperature, but not suitable for
dehumidification. To lower the latter, you would need water at 7°C, resulting in a
reduction in the performance of the water chiller compared to when the water is
produced at 15-20°C.
Water-cooled refrigerant cycle dehumidifiers are used to keep the air humidity at
optimal values (55-65%) in rooms, with the following benefits compared to other
systems:
— They employ the chilled water available in the radiant panel system;
— They are used to process the air without modifying its temperature and, there-
fore, without affecting the operation of the radiant panels and their adjustment
system
— They prevent the formation of condensation on the floor surface in radiant air
conditioning systems.
ATTENTION The dehumidifiers covered by this manual are suitable
for indoor installation only: The dehumidifier is a machine designed and
built exclusively to treat air in the civil environments, incompatible with
toxic and inflammable gases. Therefore it cannot be used in those envi-
ronments where the air is mixed and/or altered by other gaseous compos-
ites and/or solid particles. The use of the same for different purposes from
those envisioned, not conform to that described in this manual, will make
any direct and/or indirect liability of the Manufacturer and its Distributors
automatically become null and void.

The air, filtered through the filtering section (1), is pre-cooled in the exchanger (2)
by water coming from the radiant system collector (8). In the subsequent treat-
ments in the sequence, the air is further cooled and dehumidified by the evaporator
(3), then it heats by passing through the condenser (5), and finally, it is post-cooled
in the water coil (7) so that it can be introduced into the room (9) at a temperature
close to the inlet temperature.

In the DMH-C cooling version, there is no post-cooling (7) and condensation takes
place directly in water in the plate heat exchanger (10), thus providing the supply
air with an appreciable sensible load.

In the version with DMH-I integration, by means of the 3-way valve (11) it is possible
to choose whether to divert the water coming out of the plate heat exchanger (10)
towards the post-heating coil (12) or directly towards the outlet, in order to have
neutral or cooled inlet air.
