Power over Ethernet

PoE Configuration

Power over Ethernet > PoE Configuration
1. Log into your switch management page (see
on page 11).
2. Click on Power over Ethernet and click on PoE Configuration.
3. Review the settings below and click apply the settings.
Power Budget: This shows the total Power Budget of the switch. This section
does not show the current availability power budget.
Power Consumption: This shows the current power consumption from PoE
devices.
Power Management Method: This will set your switch to either Auto detect
for PoE devices, or for you to manually set your PoE devices. If Manual is
selected, please review the Power Over Ethernet Table in the next section.
4. Click Save Settings to Flash (menu).

5. Click Save Settings to Flash (button), then click OK.
Note: This step saves all configuration changes to the NV-RAM to ensure that if the
switch is rebooted or power cycled, the configuration changes will still be applied.

Power Over Ethernet Table

Power over Ethernet > PoE Configuration
1. Log into your switch management page (see
on page 11).
2. Click on Power over Ethernet and click on PoE Configuration.
3. Review the settings below and click apply the settings.
Admin: Enable or Disable PoE power to your PoE device from the switch.
Status: Displays the current status of the PoE device whether if it is on or off.
Class: Displays the power class of what the PoE device is.
Priority: Select the priority of the PoE device. As the Power Budget is nearing
maximum consumption, power will be placed on devices with higher priority
from Critical to Low.
PowerLimit: Set the maximum power given to the PoE device.

Class 0: Up to 15.4 Watts

Class 1: Up to 4 Watts
o
Class 2: Up go 7 Watts
o
Class 3: Up to 15.4 Watts
o
Class 4: Up to 30 Watts
o
UserDef: Select this to manually input the number of Watts to provide
the PoE device from the switch
