Troubleshooting
All of the ac tions de scribed in this chap ter may be
per formed by an MHP15/44HD op er a tor, a trained
and qual i fied ser vice tech ni cian is not re quired.
The first col umn, of the fol low ing chart, lists some
com mon prob lems en coun tered by MHP15/44HD
op er a tors.
The sec ond col umn lists some of the causes for
each prob lem. The third col umn lists rem e dies.
Operator Troubleshooting Chart
Problem
Engine will not crank.
Engine cranks but will
not start.
Engine runs but no
outrigger function.
Engine runs but no
boom function.
Bleed down at platform
inoperative.
Platform tilting

Cause
1. Flat battery.
2. Main circuit breaker, in
ground control box, has
tripped..
3. Loose battery terminals . Tighten battery leads at battery.
1. Out of fuel.
2. Fuel tap off.
1. Leg / boom switch in
lower control box
incorrectly set
1. Speed control set too
SLOW.
2. Stabilisers not set
correctly.
3. Lack of hydraulic oil.
1. Flat battery.
Upper boom going too high

15. Operator's Troubleshooting
CAUTION
Any problem that cannot be fixed by actions
listed below should be referred to a trained
a n d q u a l i f i e d MH P 1 5 / 4 4 H D s e rv i c e
technician.
Remedy
Replace / charge battery.
Reset circuit breaker , then try to start the
engine. If it will not start, refer the problem to
a qualified service technician.
Fill the engine with the correct type / grade of
fuel.
Locate fuel tap on engine and turn to ON.
Switch to Stabilisers to operate stabilisers.
Turn Speed Control C.W. until function
starts.
All stabilisers must be set on firm ground
before boom functions will operate.
A. Check hydraulic system for leaks.
B. Top up the oil tank with the correct type
/ grade of hydraulic oil.
A. Charge / replace the battery.
B. Use Manual Bleed Down from lower
station.
Have over-centre valve setting checked
