Automatic Float Circuit
When the water level rises to a certain maximum level
(switch-on point) the floating float automatically switches
on the pump. If the water level drops to a certain mini-
mum level (switch-off point) by pumping down, the float
switches off the pump.
The switching gap, i.e. the difference in water level be-
tween the switch-on and switch-off point can be set in-
dividually.
For perfect functioning, please follow the instructions be-
low:
The fastening points and the length of the freely-mov-
ing end of the float cable are to be set to the desired
switching level. In so doing, it is to be noted that the
switch-on point of the pump is below the inflow pipe
to prevent the conveying medium from backing up.
The switch off point must be above the upper edge
of the pump housing, so that no air pockets can form
in the pump which may mean it is necessary to venti-
late the pump under the circumstances.
In no case must the float be simply thrown into
the conveying medium with a cable, as the correct
switching is only possible with a rotary movement
of the float around the fastening point of the cable.
Possible consequences of not following this are over-
flowing (pump does not switch on) or destruction of
the pump due to dry running (pump does not switch
off).
When using separate floats for starting the pump,
stopping the pump and alarm, the switching levels
are to be selected as above. The alarm float should
switch approximately 10 cm above the pump switch-
on point, but always below the supply.
Important: After the float fastening changes, the per-
fect functioning of the float circuit is to be checked
by a test run.

5.3. Use of chains

Chains are using for lowering and raising the pump in the
operating area.
They are not using to safe pending pumps. Use them as
follows:
Fix one end of the chain on the handle of the pump.
Fix the other end of the chain on the lifting gear.
Tight the chain and lift the pump slowly.
Swing the pump over the operating area and lower
it carefully.
Make sure if the pump stands secure or if the cou-
pling system is connect tightly.
Remove the chain from the lifting gear and safe it on
the chain guard on the top of the operating area.
Make sure that the chain cannot fall down.

5.4. Start-Up

The „Start-up" chapter contains all the important instruc-
tions for the operating personnel for starting up and oper-
ating the machine safely.
The following specifications must be adhered to and
checked:
Type of installation
Operating mode
Minimum water coverage / max. submersion
If the machine has not been operated for some time,
check these specifications again and rectify any faults
you find!
The operation and maintenance handbook must al-
ways be kept either by the machine or in a place spe-
cially reserved for it where it is accessible for operat-
ing personnel at all times.
In order to prevent damage or serious injury during start-
up of the machine, the following points must be observed:
The machine may only be started up by qualified
personnel. The safety advice must be followed at
all times.
