Measure the specific gravity of battery cl.
ectrolyte. If it is below 1.26 (as correc1cd
to 20"C or 6rF), recharge the banery so
1ha1 the specific gravity is 1.26- 1.28 (as
corrected 10 20°C or 68"f). Conduct the
chargi ng test in the following manner.

(2) Connect the ammeter and voltmeter
to

bal!cry as shown in Fig. 102.
13) Start
the
engine. Simulate the N IG HT-
TIME RIDI NG and DAYTIME RIDING
conditions and compare the ammeter and
voltmeter readin11s with the specifications
at the bonom of this page.
