S. FORK TUBE/FORK SLIDER/PISTON INSPECTION
Check the fork tubes, sliders and pistons for score
marks, scratches, excessive or abnormal wear, re•
placing parts which are damaged.
6. FORK TUBE INSPECTION
Set the fork tube in V blocks and read the runout.
Take
J/2
TIR (Total Indicator Reading) to determine
theactualrunout.
SERVICE LIMIT: 0.2 mm (0.01 in)
7. FRONT FORK ASSEMBLY
Clean all parts with solvent.
Install the pistons into the fork tubes.
Apply a lockjng agent to the socket bo~ threads and
underside of the bolt head, then tighten securely.
NOTE
Do not tighten the fork slider excessively in a vise.
