5. Machine Setup

Use the tow vehicle to position the grapple and trailer at the
work site.
CAUTION!
Park the machine so prevailing winds blow
exhaust gases / fumes away from the operator.
WARNING!
Do operate the machine when not attached to
a tow vehicle. Machine could tip over causing
serious injury or death. Keep tow vehicle
attached and lower stabilizers firmly to the 
ground for stability.

• Check for leaks or damage to the engine, all hoses and
hydraulic components. Repair as required.
• The machine is designed to be used while attached to
the tow vehicle. The log trailer requires the stability of the
tow vehicle while lifting or winching heavy loads. Do not
operate if not attached to the tow vehicle.
• Start the engine on the power pack (as equipped) or
connect the grapple hydraulic hoses to the tractor remote
connections. Set the tractor hydraulic control in detent.
• Lower the stabilizer legs so that they are firmly placed on
the ground.
• Lower the trailer jack for extra stability.
• Determine your work area / landing zone and position the
control panel so the operator is opposite the landing zone
(facing the work area).
• Remove the boom lock pin.
• Check all functions of the hydraulic system before
beginning work.
3. Stabilizers lowered firmly on the ground.
4. Boom lock pin removed.
