Using Multis

Opening a Multi

The standard file open dialog will appear.

The selected Multi file will be opened.
You can also open a Multi by double-clicking on a Multi file in the Finder.
Creating a new Multi
To create a new Multi:

This will create a new, empty Multi, and open the Multi's Mixer window. You can
then add Programs and Effects to the new Multi, and assign Mixer Channels to
Audio Inputs or Streams.
Loading a Program into a Multi
To load a Program into a Multi:

(MacOS Only: Alternatively, you can select the Input slot and then double-click the
name of the Program in the Catalog.)
The Program appears in the Input slot. If Auto-Load FX is turned on for the Mixer
Channel, then the Program's Effects will be loaded into the Insert Effect slots.
See "Auto-Load FX controls how Effects are loaded" below for more details.

This opens the Program Edit window, as described on page 86.
The OASYS PCI uses "fixed voice allocation," which means that if you want to play
six-note chords on an electric piano sound, you must tell the system to reserve six
voices for the Patches within that Program. Conversely, the fewer voices you
reserve for one Program, the more that will be available for other Programs (or for
Effects).

OASYS PCI
Select Open... from the File menu.
Select the Multi that you want to open, and press OK.
Select New from the File menu.
Open the Catalog, by selecting it from the Windows menu.
In the Catalog, select the Program tab.
Drag a Program from the Catalog onto the Input slot.
Set the MIDI Channel and Output as desired.
Double-click on the Program name, in either the Mixer Channel input slot
or the Channel Parameters window.
In the Program Edit window, set each Patch's number of voices as desired.
