09_TRAINING

We suggest using the Power Mag Smart B+ with the ELITE
My E-Training app, specifically developed for smartphones
and tablets, though it's also possible to use it with other
apps compatible with
the ANT+ and / or Bluetooth Smart protocols.
Moreover, there are several next gen cycle computers /
GPS devices compatible with the ANT+ protocol so they
can display data sent by the Force B+ without using an
app.
You need to set wheel circumference on the device to
calculate speed properly.
The circumference to set is the one of the roll of the
resistance unit (94mm).
If you are using My E-Training, once the correct roll is set,
the My E-Training app enters the correct circumference
value automatically.
If you are using another app or device, the value of the
circumference to set is 94mm.
NOTE:
- An incorrect hometrainer setup might cause inaccurate
power data.
- To save energy, the sensor turns off automatically after a
few minutes of inactivity. Start pedalling to reactivate it.
- Cadence from the hometrainer is the result of a
calculation and to obtain precise data your bike's chain
needs to be properly tensed. That's why there are some
circumstances (for instance with low gears) where the
value might not be absolutely
precise.
- The hometrainer sends data via both Bluetooth
Smart and ANT+ protocols but you can't use
them both concurrently.
- With the ANT+ protocol you can monitor training data
(speed, cadence and power) on multiple devices, while
with the Bluetooth Smart protocol you can only display
training data one device at a time.

10_CALIBRATING THE SHIFT LEVER

Please follow these steps if you notice incorrect power
data while training; the cause may be an incorrect sync
between power data and selector position. We suggest
proceeding with the following calibration on the
motherboard:
- Open the battery compartment (Pic.1)
- Move the lever to its min position (lvl 1);
- Press and hold the button on the motherboard for five (5)
seconds (Pic. 25) until it blinks three (3) times;
- Start pedaling, once above 10Km/h increase the level
20
every 5 seconds until you attain to the max available
resistance (8);
- Continue pedaling at the max available resistance (8) for
5 more seconds.
NOTE: Do not shift gears while pedalling.
NOTE: It is possible to decrease speed below the minimum
resistance level (1).
- If the procedure was successful, the LED light will remain
on for 20 seconds; otherwise, after 120 seconds (the max
time allowed for calibrating) the LED light will blink for 20
seconds.
- Close the battery compartment (Pic. 3).

11_BICYCLE REMOVAL

- Remove the remote regulation shifter from the handlebar.

12_WARNING

- The smartphone / tablet / cycle computer must be
compatible with ANT+"Speed and Cadence",
Power" or Bluetooth Smart protocols.
- Even though the resistance unit can connect to an
external device, automatic adjustment of resistance levels
by the app / cycle computer is not possible. The cyclist will
have to manually adjust resistance with the selector.
- During use of the Power Mag Smart B+ with Elastogel
roller, slight wear of the roller is quite normal. Tests carried
out at Elite show that after continuous use for 20,000 km,
roller wear is around 0.1 mm, and since the total thickness
is 10 mm, correct operation of the trainer will not be
affected even with far greater wear. Claims that are due to
improper or careless use, will not be acknowledged. Slight
wear of the part in rubber is quite normal.
- Using the Power Mag Smart B+ with narrow tyres or
with unsuitable tyre pressures can permanently damage
the Elastogel roller.
- Do not store the Power Mag Smart B+ in wet or damp
places. The electronic components could become
damaged.
- If slipping of the wheel on the Elastogel roller is noticed,
apply a more gradual force on the pedal. Training with the
tyre slipping can permanently damage the Elastogel roller.
- Power Mag Smart B+ calculates power by means of
mathematical formulas and it is only an estimate of the
power output of the cyclist. Many variables affect the
resistance of a hometrainer, some of which aren't
controlled by the sensor (for instance, tyre pressure, tyre
type and so on), so determining the error in power
measurement calculated by Power Mag Smart B+ is
impossible.
- Remove the battery when not in use for long periods.
