8 Creation of the PDM Network Structure for the Maintenance Project
8.4.2

Projects without PDM [A1, A2, B1, B2]

In the event that there is no PDM available on the ES, another option is to use
import.
To do this, use a 3rd computer with the same STEP7/PCS 7 installation of the
original ES, plus the PDM installation (including the imported device catalog).
The following minimum PDM licenses are required:
PDM Basic License
One PDM Tag license for each field device.
Procedure
1. Archive the current multi-project or project and copy it to the 3rd computer with
the PDM installation.
2. Open the ES project on the 3rd computer.
3. Open PDM for a device so that the network structure is created in PDM.
4. Copy the PDM-MS project from Chapter 7.1 or 7.2 to this 3rd computer and
open it.
5. Open the Process Device Network View in this PDM MS Project.
6. Right-click the plant bus ("PROFINET Network") and select "SIMATIC PDM >
Import from HWK Station" from the context menu.
For this, the same subnet ID as in the ES project must be set in the properties
of the plant bus.
7. Select the ES project (see step 3.) and confirm the selection with "OK".
8. Start the import by clicking "Import"
9. Copy the PDM MS project back to the PDM MS.
As a rule, the device assignment takes place automatically during import. For
Note
some devices, it may be necessary to assign the device type to the field devices
via the corresponding EDD or FDI file.
