6.2 Configuring the IE/PB Link Without DP Master
Function [A2]
The maintenance project being created here contains the basic configuration of an
IE/PB Link that connects the PDM MS to an existing PROFIBUS system with a
third-party DP master.
1. Create a new project and select "Insert new object > SIMATIC 300 station"
from the context menu.
2. Open the hardware configuration of this station.
3. Select the appropriate IE/PB Link type under "SIMATIC 300 > Gateway >
IE/PB Link..." and add it to the station.
4. Select the Ethernet network and enter the IP address.
5. Select the PROFIBUS network and enter the PROFIBUS address.
6. Right-click the "PROFIBUS/DP" interface and select "Insert master system".

7. For older IE/PB Link types, the data record gateway must be activated in the
object properties of the IE/PB Link. This option is no longer available for newer
types.
