Manual Creation of the PDM Network Structure

8.3.1

PROFIBUS and PROFINET Network via S7-CPU [A1, B1]

If an S7 CPU is used in the automation project, but not a STEP 7 or PCS 7, the
network components must be configured manually as follows.
1. Right-click the PROFINET network and select "Insert new object > Object" from
the context menu.
The "Insert Object" window opens.
2. In the "Insert Object" window, click "Assign Device Type..." and select "Devices
> S7 DSGW > Network Components > Siemens AG > SIMATIC Automation
System".

3. Confirm the entry with "OK".
4. Enter the IP address and confirm the entry with "OK".
5. Right-click the "SIMATIC Automation System" node in the Process Device
Network View and select "Insert new object > Communication network" from
the context menu.
6. Click "Assign device type" and select "Networks > PROFINET > PROFINET
Networks > PROFINET Network" or select "Networks > PROFIBUS DP >
PROFIBUS DP Networks > PROFIBUS DP Network".
7. Right-click the created network and select "Insert object..." from the context
menu.
8. Click "Assign device type", then select either the device used (e.g.
SIMOCODE) or the station used (e.g. ET 200M, ET 2000SP HA) from the
menu item "Networks > PROFINET" or "Networks > PROFIBUS DP".
