Removing a cylinder
Preparations
Position the crusher unit vertically by using
a hoist device (see previous chapter)
OPENING FRAME LID
1. Remove all 10 lid fasteners
– Allen key: 6mm
2. Remove frame lid
(a) detach wire clip to fully remove lid
Thoroughly clean frame in-
terior to minimise risk of con-
taminating the hydraulic sys-
tem.
DISCONNECT CYLINDER
HYDRAULIC HOSES
3. Disconnect couplings:
spanner (P): 27mm
spanner (T): 22mm
Plug or protect all hydraulic
openings!
REMOVE CYLINDER SHAFTS
Start by removing the jaw—frame shaft as
described in previous chapter.
4. Remove the cylinder—frame shaft nut
– use speciality tool: ST #3
or hook spanner
Reassembling: apply thread-locking
cpd. T1. Tighten manually "hard",
until free movement of jaw is lim-
ited – then loosen slightly.
5. Knock in shaft
– use a steel or nylon rod
6. Reassembling: Note the segment alignment!
7. Knock shaft through
– shaft is replaced by rod
8. Remove the cylinder
– secure cylinder and remove rod
– take care of the cylinder shield
REASSEMBLING
Reverse the above steps. For reassembling
cylinder—jaw shaft, see previous chapter.
Lubricate contact surfaces and secure
threads as follows:
I. thoroughly clean shaft and threads
with steel brush, solvent and com-
pressed air
II. cover shaft threads with tape
• apply a thin layer of grease to
shafts and contact surfaces of
frame and cylinder eye
III. remove tape after mounting the shaft
• apply thread-locking com-
pound to shaft nut
