19. CUTTING HEAD
19.1. DISMANTLING THE BLADE
GUARD/BEARING HOUSING
This chapter describes dismantling of the cutting
head components and and provides instructions
for replacing the blade shaft bearing. Start by
dismantling the blade guard inkluding the cutting
according to chapter 7.3.
1. Dismantle the cutting head from the machine
by releasing the centered screw with a
spanner.
This will release the components in the order
shown in the illustration.
2. Place the cutting head flat on a solid support,
with the belt pulley facing up.
3. Turn the belt pulley until the holes in the pulley
are aligned with the holes in the underlying
brake drum.
4. Lock the belt pulley from rotation by putting a
mandrel or a screwdriver through both holes,
see the illustration.
5. While keeping the belt pulley locked with one
hand, loosen the belt pulley's center screw with
a spanner in the other hand.
