A. Malfunction Diagnosis Flowchart
The malfunctions that occur in the sorter are broadly classified into four factors; "paper jams,"
"paper transport troubleshooting," "malfunction troubleshooting," and
troubleshooting."
If a malfunction occurred in the sorter, the service technician is to find the factor according
to the malfunction diagnosis flowchart and to clear the problem following the action procedure
for each malfunction.
Make sure the following points at the execution of troubleshooting.
• Be sure that the connector has no poor contact when measuring the voltage at the specified
terminal of the connector.
• Before handling PCBs, be sure to touch a metal part of the printer to discharge static elec-
tricity, as it can cause damage to the PCBs.
