After the seawater has completely drained, apply sealant to the threads of the drain plugs or fittings (if equipped). Install
and tighten the drain plugs or fittings.

10. Connect all hoses. Tighten the hose clamps.

Checking the Seawater Pickups

Verify that the water inlet holes for the seawater pickup are clean and not obstructed.

Cleaning the Seawater Strainer, if Equipped

An open seawater strainer or seacock during some service or maintenance procedures can introduce water into the boat,
causing damage or sinking the boat. Always close the water supply from the seawater pump, water inlet, or seacock when
performing service or maintenance on the cooling system.
1.
With the engine off, close the seacock, if equipped, or remove and plug the seawater inlet hose.
2.
For metal seawater strainers:
a.
Remove the screws, washers, and cover.
b.
Remove the strainer, drain plug, and sealing washer.
c.
Clean any debris from the strainer housing.
d.
Flush both the strainer and housing with clean water.
