Feature description

2.2.1
General
The flame simulators emit electromagnetic radiation in a unique
sequential pattern corresponding to and recognizable as fire by the
specific flame detector model. This allows the flame detector to be
tested under real fire conditions without the associated risks of an
open flame.
The flame simulators are powered by rechargeable lithium ion
batteries. If the battery voltage is lower than the required operational
level, the flame simulator will not operate. When fully charged, the
flame simulators will operate:
for at least 1000 tests without recharging (Dräger FS 1100/1400).
for at least 100 tests without recharging (Dräger FS 1200/1300).
2.2.2
Dräger FS 1100/1400
The flame simulator emits infrared (IR) energy which is filtered to emit
electromagnetic radiation.
The flame simulator includes:
a reflector that accumulates the IR energy and directs it towards
the flame detector
a laser diode and a sight to align the flame simulator with the target
point of the flame detector
a PC board with the IR source or halogen lamp that emits the light
a battery chamber with a battery pack

2.2.3
Dräger FS 1200/1300
The flame simulator emits both ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR)
energy.
The flame simulator includes:
a reflector that accumulates both the UV and IR energy and directs
it towards the flame detector
a sight to align the flame simulator with the target point of the flame
detector
a PC board with a halogen lamp that emits the light
a battery chamber with a battery pack
