ROUBLESHOOTING
Cause
When engine is difficult to start.
When output is insufficient
When color of exhaust is
specially bad
If you do not find the cause of trouble, consult your KIOTI dealer for assistance.
Fuel is thick and doesn't flow.
Air or water mixed in fuel system.
Thick carbon deposits on orifice of
injection nozzle.
Valve clearance is wrong.
Engine oil become thick in cold
weather and engine cranks slow.
Start motor does not rotate when
key switch is turned
Valve out of adjustment
Air cleaner is dirty
Fuel injection pressure is wrong
Fuel is of extremely poor quality
Nozzle is bad
Countermeasures
Check the fuel tank and fuel filter.
Remove water, dirt and other impurities.
All fuel will be filtered by the filter, if there should be water
of other foreign material on the filter, replace the filter.
If air is in the fuel filter or injection lines, the fuel pump will
not work properly.
To attain proper fuel injection pressure, check carefully for
loosened fuel cap nut, etc.
Loosen air vent screw over fuel filter and fuel injection
pump to eliminate all the air in the fuel system.
This is caused when water or dirt is mixed in the fuel.
Clean the nozzle injection piece, being careful not to
damage the orifice.
Check to see if nozzle is working properly or not, if not,
install a new nozzle.
Contact KIOTI dealer.
Change grade of oil according to the weather.

If the switch or start motor is faulty, have it repaired in a
workshop.
If any terminal is loose or corroded, clean or fix it firmly.
Contact KIOTI dealer.
Clean or replace the element at every 100 to 200 hours of
operation.
Contact KIOTI dealer.
Select good quality fuel.
Temperature
- Above 14°F (-10°C)
- Below 14°F (-10°C)
If necessary, replace with new nozzle.
