TERMINAL MENU STRUCTURE

The Express L768 uses a multilevel menu structure containing both
menu items and data fields. All menu operations and data display in
the terminal menu window. The Express L768 is shipped in the Facto-
ry Default configuration. Connect any VT 100 or VT 220 type terminal
emulator to the maintenance port. The default rate is 9600 baud 8-N-
1. The terminal emulator can flow the Express L768 off using software
flow control. Hardware flow control is not used.
The opening menu (the Main menu, or top-level menu) is the access
point to all other operations. Each Main menu item has several func-
tions and submenus to identify and access specific parameters. Figure
3-1 on page 3-3 shows the top-level terminal menu.
To edit items in the terminal menus, you must have the
appropriate security level. Each menu description in this
section indicates the required security level required for
write access. The maintenance port is always at security
level 0, giving full access to all configuration items.
