OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
The units are designed for installation in closed environments in conditions of 'urban',
non-marine atmosphere with non-corrosive and non-dusty characteristics.
Under no circumstances the following concentrations of pollutants in the air, in which
the unit must operate, shall be exceeded:
SO
<0,02 ppm
2
H
S
<0,02 ppm
2
NO,NO
<1 ppm

NH
<6 ppm

The unit should not be installed in locations characterized by the presence of flammable
gases or acidic or alkaline substances.
Otherwise the coils and the internal components of the equipment could suffer serious
and irreparable damage from corrosion.

33. INSTALLATION

INFORMATION FOR INSTALLATION
ATTENTION: Ensure that the power
supply has been disconnected before
carrying out any intervention.
ATTENTION: before doing any work
provide yourself with the proper personal pro-
tective equipment.
ATTENTION: The device must be installed in
accordance with national wiring rules.
The instructions essential for the successful instal-
lation of the system are indicated here.
The completion of all the operations is however left
to the experience of the installer according to the
specific requirements.
• Refer to the characteristics of the version in
question.
• All the fan coils can be installed in a vertical
position.
• Only versions equipped with front tray can be
installed in a horizontal position.
• Ensure the electric attachments are kept separa-
te from the hydraulic attachments. The hydraulic
attachments and condensate drain attachments
must be on the side opposite to the side with
the electrical connections.
Before installing the unit, ensure that the follow-
ing instructions have been complied with:
Place of assembly:
• Install in indoor closed environments.
• The wall or ceiling must be capable of suppor-
ting the unit weight.
• Installation must not constitute a danger to per-
sons.
• The place of installation must be provided with
the hydraulic attachments of the heating and/or
cooling systems.
• The place of installation must be provided with
electrical connection or power socket.

WARNINGS FOR THE QUALITY OF THE WATER CIRCULATING IN
THE COILS
It is recommended to perform an analysis of the water circulating in the coil focusing on
the research of the possible presence of bacteria (detection of iron bacteria and micro-
organisms that can produce H2S or chemically reduce sulphates) and on the chemical
composition of the water, to prevent corrosion and fouling inside the tubes.
The water circuit must be supplied and replenished with treated water that does not
exceed the threshold levels indicated below.
Total hardness in mmol/l
Chlorides [CL
Sulphates [SO
Nitrates [NO
Dissolved iron
Dissolved oxygen
Carbon dioxide [CO

ATTENTION: keep electric attachments separate
from the hydraulic attachments. The hydraulic
attachments and condensate drain attachments
must be on the side opposite to the side with
the electrical connections.
ATTENTION: electrical connections and instal-
lation of the units and their accessories must
out be carried only by personnel with the tech-
nical-professional qualification for installing,
transforming, extending and maintaining the
• The place of installation should be provided with
a connection to the condensate drain if the unit
should be operated in cooling mode.
• The unit must be installed in a position to allow
easy routine (cleaning of the filter) and extraordi-
nary maintenance as well as access to the air vent
valve on the side of the frame (connections side).
• The place of assembly should have the maximum
and minimum limit of environment temperature
indicated in the table "Operating limits".
• Do not install the unit in areas where there are
flammable gases or acidic or alkaline substances
that could irreparably damage the copper-alu-
minium heat exchangers or plastic internal com-
ponents.
• Do not install the unit in workshops or kitchens
where the oil vapours mixed with the treated air
could deposit on exchange batteries reducing
performance or on the internal parts of the unit
damaging the plastic components.
• The position must ensure sufficient space for the
air flows in intake and delivery.
• With wall installation with intake from below,
maintain a minimum distance from the floor of
80 mm.
• The unit must be installed in a position such that
the air can be distributed throughout the envi-
ronment. There must be no barriers (panels or
objects) to passage of the air from the intake and
delivery grilles.

systems as well as for inspecting them to ensu-
re safety and functionality.
ATTENTION: Install a device, master switch or
electric plug that allows disconnecting the
appliance's power supply.
ATTENTION: See all of the documentation before
commencing installation.
• In the event of floor installation with plinths,
refer to the instructions accompanying the
accessory.
• The units provided for connections with pipes for
air have a series of accessories for fitting to the
ducts.
In choosing the point of installation take into ac-
count their characteristics, dimensions and tech-
nical areas required for installation and mainte-
nance.
Hydraulic connections:
• The pipes of the hot and/or cold water must be in
the position and with the diameter of the hydrau-
lic connections shown in this manual.

The versions with 2 circuit batteries for 4 pipe
systems are not reversible. Both the versions
with right and left connections are available.
• To avoid drips during the cooling operation, it
is advisable to adequately isolate the water pipes
or to install the appropriate auxiliary condensate
collection tray, available as an accessory.
• Where the valve is installed, the minimum tem-
perature water probe can be installed in two po-
sitions:
- in its seat in the coil,
- to the delivery pipe upstream of the valve.
Consult the thermostat manual before selecting
the position of the probe of the minimum tem-
perature water probe depending on the control
