Using Telnet to Finish the
Configuration
If you are using Windows 98, refer to Section 4.5.1

Using Windows 98 Telnet.

If you are using Windows 2000/XP, refer to Section
4.5.2 Using Windows 2000 or Windows XP Telnet
on page 22.

Using Windows 98 Telnet
1. Select Start
Run to open a DOS window.
At the Run dialog box, type telnet and press

the [ENTER] key.
The Telnet application should now be running.
3. Select Connect Remote System...
The Connect window appears:

4. In the Host Name field, type the IP address that
was assigned to the C900TTL-E.
In this example, the IP address is 172.17.10.70.
Type 1 into the Port field and accept vt100 in the
TermType field.
5. Click Connect and wait a few seconds for a failed
message to display: Could not open a
connection to 172.17.10.70.
6. Click OK. The Telnet window appears again.
7. Select Connect→Remote System...
8. This time, type 9999 into the Port field and accept
the other fields. Click Connect.
