40. Select 9 at the main menu to save and close the
telnet session.
41. A message appears indicating that the connection
was lost.
Click OK to close the Telnet window.
42. To confirm that the IP address was configured
properly, ping the IP Address and check for a
response:
At the C:\> prompt, type ping <IP Address>,
then press [ENTER].
Four reply messages should appear to confirm that
the C900TTL-E is communicating with the
network.
Configuration of the C900TTL-E is complete. Perform
this procedure for any additional C900TTL-E modules.

Using Windows

Telnet

To complete the IP address configuration of the
C900TTL-E using Windows 2000 or Windows XP,
launch a telnet session.
You must log into Windows with an
Administrator privilege level.
This example uses the IP address of
172.17.10.70 and the MAC Address of
00-20-4a-72-04-0e.
1. Select Start
Run to open a DOS window
2. At the Run dialog box, type COMMAND and click
[OK].
3. A Command Prompt window appears:
The colors are reversed here for clarity. The
normal prompt window has white text on
black.
4. At the C:\> prompt, type telnet and press
[ENTER].

5. At the Microsoft Telnet> prompt, type open
< > IP ADDRESS < > PORT NUMBER
Example: open 172.17.10.70 1
6. The connection fails the first time. This is normal.
At the prompt, enter the same sequence but use
port 9999 instead of 1.
Example: open 172.17.10.70 9999
Press [F3] to display last line typed. Backspace over
the port and change the value to 9999.
7. Press [ENTER] to open the setup menu of the
C900TTL-E device.
The Command Prompt – telnet screen appears,
8. Go to Step 10 on page 19 and complete the
procedure.
