As a result, child restraint systems cannot
perform their intended protective function.
Rear seat backrests that are not locked can
also cause additional injuries, e.g. in the
event of an accident.
Always lock rear seat backrests after

installing Top Tether belts.
Observe the lock verification indicator.

If the rear seat backrest is not engaged and
locked, the red lock verification indicator will be
visible.
The risk of injury can be reduced by Top Tether.
The Top Tether belt facilitates an additional con‐
nection between the child restraint system
attached with LATCH-type (ISOFIX) and the vehi‐
cle.
The child restraint system must be equipped
with a Top Tether belt.
Vehicles with adjustable head restraints:
If necessary, move the head restraint
