Adjusting the riding sag
Main work

Measure the full spring length while it is under tension and note
down the value.

If the spring cannot be fully released, the spring must be
removed to accurately measure the spring length.

Measure the total spring length while the spring is not under ten-
sion.

Spring preload

The spring preload is the difference between the relaxed
spring length and the tensioned spring length.
Depending on the static sag and/or the riding sag, it may be
necessary to increase or decrease the spring preload.

Tighten retaining ring

Install the shock absorber.

Remove the motorcycle from the lift stand. (
Preparatory work

Raise the motorcycle with a lift stand. (

Remove the shock absorber.
–
After removing the shock absorber, clean it thoroughly.

Choose and mount a suitable spring.
