Fitting the side handle and depth stop (Fig.A,B)
Turn the grip counter clockwise until you can slide the
side handle (7) onto the front of the tool as shown (fig.A).
Rotate the side handle into the desired position.
Insert the depth stop(6) into the mounting hole as shown (fig.B).
Set the drilling depth as described below.
Tighten the side handle by turning the grip clockwise.
Fitting a drill bit or other accessory
Keyless chuck (Fig. C1)
Grasp the rear half of the chuck with one hand and use your
other hand to rotate the front half counterclockwise as shown in
Fig. C1. Rotate far enough so that the chuck opens sufficiently to
accept the desired accessory.
Insert the bit or other accessory into the chuck and tighten
securely by holding the rear half of the chuck and rotating the
front portion in the clockwise direction. When the chuck is nearly
tightened, you will hear a clicking sound. After 4–6 clicks, the
chuck is securely tightened around the accessory.
To release the accessory, repeat step 1 listed above.
Keyed chuck (Fig. C2)
Open the chuck (5) by turning the sleeve counter clockwise.
Insert the bit shaft (9) into the chuck (drill bit not included).
Insert the chuck key (10) into each hole (11) in the side of the
chuck and turn clockwise until it is tight.
To release the accessory, repeat step 1 listed above.
WARNING! Do not attempt to tighten drill bits (or any other
accessory) by gripping the front part of the chuck and turning the
tool on. Damage to the chuck and personal injury may result.
Chuck removal and installation
Keyless chuck (Fig. D1)
Tighten the chuck around the shorter end of a hex key (not
supplied). Using a soft hammer or piece of wood, strike the
longer end in the counterclockwise direction. This will loosen the
chuck so that it can be unscrewed by hand.
Screw the chuck on by hand as far as it will go. Tighten the
chuck around the shorter end of a hex key (not supplied) and
strike the longer end in the clockwise direction with a soft
hammer
Keyed chuck (Fig.D2)
Open the chuck as far as possible.
Remove the chuck retaining screw, located in the chuck, by
turning it clockwise using a screwdriver.
Tighten the hex key into the chuck and strike it with an
Impact as shown.
Remove the hex key. Remove the chuck by turning it
counter clockwise.
To refit the chuck, screw it onto the spindle and secure it
with the chuck retaining screw.
USE
WARNING! Let the tool work at its own pace.Do
not overload.
WARNING! Before drilling into walls, floors or
ceilings, check for the location of wiring and pipes.
