4 Ethernet connection with easyE4 via "Auto IP"

4.1 Requirements

The IP factory setting of the easyE4 is "Auto IP".
"Auto IP" is a method for automatically configuring the IP address of the PC and the easyE4. It is con-
figured from the MAC address. The default IP address for "Auto IP" is 192.254.xxx.yyy.
In order to establish communication via "Auto IP", set the Ethernet interface of your PC to "Obtain IP
address automatically" ( Network settings of the PC).

Connecting to easyE4 via "Auto IP"

Connect the easyE4 to your PC via Ethernet and open the easySoft V7.

1. Select the connected device type from the device catalog on the left and add it to the work
pane via drag and drop Click on the device to display the tabs below with the detailed prop-
erties of the device.
2. Switch to the register "Ethernet".
3. Make sure that "Auto IP" is selected in the IP settings of the easyE4.
4. Decide whether you want to enable the option "Enable configuration via network" in the
easyE4. If yes, check this box. By default, the check mark is not set in a new *.e70 project.
