Inhibiting operating functions (changing codes)

Codes (max. 4 characters) are used to modify parameters or to prevent
the display of data.
Each existing main menu entry and function "Change codes" can be pro-
tected by separate codes in this way.
If the correct code is not input,
D access to the corresponding sublevel or
D changing data in the sublevel is impossible.
CAUTION
Unauthorized modification or spying of codes is possible!
Always use a separate code when assigning codes to protect
function "Change code".
Inform only authorized persons of this code. Persons who are fa-
miliar with this code can display and modify all stored codes!
To set the codes, proceed as follows:

1. Press the
key.
2. Use the

key 4 times.
4. If a superordinate code has already been assigned, the BT 6.190
now expects this superordinate code (master code) to be entered.
Otherwise (superordinate code = 0), continue with 7.
5. Enter the superordinate code. Codes are not displayed when they
are entered!
6. Press the
key.
After the correct code has been entered, the first screen for assigning
codes (entry of the master code) is displayed:
1st line: SETUP BT
2nd line: Change code
3rd line: <free>
4th line: <Code to change codes>
7. The currently set code can be changed directly (default setting ex
factory and after replacing the firmware: 0).
