4-31. Setting up Harmonics and DC

If the Global Settings are set to "percentage of RMS value", the fundamental amplitude is
automatically adjusted as harmonics are added, in order to maintain the RMS value
constant.
There are two ways to setup harmonics. The Waveform Edit mode provides a choice of
time or frequency domain indication of wave shape. The Grid Edit mode provides a view
of both voltage and current harmonics in adjacent grids. Press the Harmonics softkey to
access the Harmonics Edit Mode softkeys. See Figure 4-14.
To use the Waveform Edit mode, push the Waveform Edit softkey. To add a harmonic,
push the Harmonics softkey. A new set of softkeys are presented. Push the Next
Harmonic softkey and enter values for harmonic number, amplitude and phase angle.
The default phase angle for harmonics is 0 degrees (0 radians). Harmonic number of 0
represents a dc component.
Each time the value in the Harmonic field is changed and its amplitude is set to a non-
zero value, a new harmonic is added to the wave shape and displayed in the graph.
Harmonics do not appear at the output unless Harmonics mode is enabled for that channel.
Review the selections via the Previous Harmonic and Next Harmonic softkeys.
The Reset Harmonics softkey removes all harmonics from the active channel.
