First Time Installation
Please read instructions carefully before installation.
Check the contents of kit. Contact your Prorack dealer if any parts appear to be missing or damaged.
Clean your roof racks and cargo basket prior to fi tting the Recovery Tracks Carrier.
Important Warning
It is critical that all Prorack racks and accessories be properly and securely attached to your vehicle. Improper
attachment could result in an automobile accident, and could cause serious bodily injury or death to you or to others.
You are responsible for securing the racks and accessories to your car, checking the attachments prior to use, and
periodically inspecting the products for adjustment, wear, and damage.
If you do not understand all of the instructions and cautions, or if you have no mechanical experience and are not
thoroughly familiar with the installation procedures, you should have the product installed by a professional installer
such as a roof rack specialist.
Tools Required (for mounting bracket, square bar and cargo basket installations only)
13 mm Spanner / 13 mm Socket Wrench
(for Square Bar and Cargo Basket installation only)
Tape Measure
Note - this product is optimised to work with the following recovery tracks:

  • Page 3: Mounting Bracket

    Installation of Recovery Tracks Carrier plus Mounting Brackets on Prorack HD, Tradesman and other Heavy Duty Crossbars Check crossbar spread is between 492 mm to 892 mm. Insert 2 x M8 Spring Nuts at an equal distance from the ends of each crossbar. Push Spring Nuts down into the crossbar channels and twist to lock into place as pictured.
  • Page 4 Check the mounting position of the Baseplates by placing them on to the Mounting Brackets. The middle Baseplate channels must align with the M8 slot Nuts in the Mounting Brackets. Note the narrow ends of the Baseplates face towards the front and rear of the vehicle. Position Baseplates onto separate crossbars noting the narrow ends face towards the front and rear of the vehicle.

  • Page 10 Attach Straps by hooking the metal webbing buckles from behind through the side holes on the Baseplates. Ensure that the buckles are sitting fl ush against the Baseplate as pictured, that the Velcro section of the Adjuster Strap is facing forward and that the Velcro section of the Fixed Strap is facing backward.
  • Page 11 Position 2 x Clamp Plates underneath the Crossbar for each Baseplate. Ensure the Clamp Plate holes align with the outer Baseplate channel on either side of the Crossbar. Note - Your crossbar spacing and track size will determine where in the outer Baseplate channels to secure to the crossbars to obtain the recommended distance.
