Chapter 4 Basic operations
Lesson 5
Saving your show on disk
You should always make at least one back up copy (if not two) of each show you
are working on . Back up copies are stored on standard 3.5-inch, double-sided,
double-density computer disks . Each disk can hold two shows.
When you record a show to disk you record all system settings, SMPTE pro-
grams, macros, regions, softpatch, cues, groups, and any other information that
you have in the PSC at the time you record the show .
To make back up copies of your work requires these steps, (each is included in
this lesson):
•
Format a standard double-sided, double-density 3.5-inch disk on the PSC
•
Record show on formatted disk
•
Verify that show was properly recorded
For more disk information and instructions on reading a show from disk, see
Chapter 6, Print options and disk management .
